Wyclef Resigns From Non-Profit, Haiti Presidential Run On Deck

Grammy-winning rapper Wyclef Jean has resigned from his chair at the non profit he founded amid talks of a Haiti presidential run and an outstanding debt he owes the IRS.
Wyclef is expected to announce his presidential campaign after stepping down from his post.

The singer released a statement that he was resigning the chairmanship of Yele Haiti effective immediately Thursday.The Brooklyn, N.Y.-raised entertainer was headed to his native Haiti and was expected to officially file his election papers Thursday afternoon at the provisional electoral council in the capital, Port-au-Prince. Obie Trice's Tax Records Leak Online, Rapper Owes $298K To IRS

Former Shady Records artist Obie Trice's tax records have leaked online and show the rapper owing over $298,000 to the Internal Revenue Service.

His debt is in relation to a June 2010 tax lien filed against him.
Detroit rapper Obie Trice, who survived a New Year's Eve shooting on the Lodge freeway in 2005, is ducking a shot from the Internal Revenue Service, which claims the Eminem pal owes more than $298,000 in delinquent taxes. The IRS filed a $298,051 tax lien against Trice on June 21 with the Wayne County Register of Deeds. The address on the lien is his mother's house in Detroit. Trice could not be reached for comment. His father, also named Obie Trice, said he would try to pass a message along to his son. He didn't know anything about the tax lien. Well, he knew one thing: "I know that's not me," he said Wednesday. "I've never made that kind of money to get that kind of tax debt." (Detroit News)

Fat Joe Celebrates "Darkside" First-Week Sales, "They Mad At Me For Putting Out Good Music They Can't Make" 

Terror Squad leader Fat Joe has celebrated his first-week sales total of Darkside, Volume 1 after his solo project debuted in the Top 50 today.

Writing on Twitter, Joe tweeted his album sales and its performance as an E1 Music release.
"Re-Tweet: E1Music Congrats to @joeycrackts for selling 12,320 copies of The Dark Side this week & being the #2 indie album!!!"

His album ranked within the Top 50 records on Nielsen SoundScan today.
